Summertime is here!

This week has been filled with end of school activities. My daughter "graduated" from pre-school and will start year one after the summer. My former students at Carl Adolph Agardhgymnasiet are graduating today and Lund is filled with happy young people and at IES we are working hard with the preparations for the coming term and the opening of IES Lund. We have completed our staff recruitment and I am happy to welcome Ms. Liz Tumber from UK to our school. Together with Ms. Teri Sundin, Mr. Michael Neppelberg and Mrs. Hanna Ekstrand they will form a strong teaching team ready to welcome you in August.

Looking forward to Sunday

After months of preparations, marketing and recruitment we all look forward to coming Sunday when we will meet all new students with parents and sibblings. It is time for the first IES workshop in Lund. With a little help from our frends in Halmstad and with all the present staff i Lund we hope to give you all a nice and sunny first day with Internationella Engelska skolan.

A few seats left....

The sun is shining and admission is nearly over. We are awaiting a few more answers this week. There will be three classes during the first year. One in year four and two in year five. But we can still offer interested students a few places for 2013. Mostly in year five but one or two can also join year four. Are you interested? Call our secretary Ms Hägerklint.

Right and wrong in Sydsvenskan

In the Wednesday edition of Sydsvenskan you could read that Skolinspektionen have received six applications to start new "friskolor" in Lund. Among these Internationella Engelska skolan was mentioned in a fashion that could lead to the impression that we would not start in august 2013.

This is wrong even if the article is right. IES has for safety reasons applied for a new school permit for 2014 in case there would be a problem with the school building for 2013. Now we all know that there is no problem and we will indeed start in august 2013 with three classes, one in year four and two in year five at Sankt Lars väg 9. There are still a few vacancies so you are still welcome to apply for 2013 and of course for 2014

Springtime and new developments

May we hope for spring yet? Hopefully so, and as a sign of spring, we had a most energetic information meeting last Saturday.

185 parents and students came and got the newest information about the school's start with year 4 and 5 at Sankt Lars väg 9 in August and the planning for the new buildning at Sankt Lars väg 90.

We are now enrolling students and Ms Hägerklint is busy on the phone contacting all of you. The queue for next year is growing and I have started to recruit teachers for the coming academic year. Stay tuned for more updates...
