School Blog

Information to all applicants

Dear parents and students.

Plans are moving ahead for our new school in Lund and we are greatly looking forward to welcoming students in August 2013.

As newly appointed principal, I wanted to write to you to keep you up-to-date on the latest developments in making your new school a reality.

We are now planning to open in the St Lars area of Lund.  We have identified a beautiful building which we are looking forward to transforming into a school, together with our partners Hemsö.

In the meantime we plan now to open on a reduced scale in August 2013, in a smaller building very close to the planned future home of Internationella Engelska Skolan Lund, taking in three maybe four classes of children in grades four and five, equalling 60 - 80 pupils, before opening on a larger scale in the main building in August 2014. I hope that all of you who have applied for class six and seven will remain in our queue for 2014.

Due to complications in the planning process, the building that we had previously identified, in Ruben Rausings Gata, cannot be used. However, the new building presents many significant advantages and we are delighted with the future of our planned school in Lund.

We are working closely with partners including our landlord and the kommun over the finer details of our new application for planning permission. We look forward to resolving this soon and will of course keep you informed.

The admission process will begin during March when we know with certainty how many pupils we can accept during the first year.

I will be holding an information meeting on Saturday, 6th of  April 13.00 – 14.00 at Emdalavägen 12, Lund (Edison Park )when I will be delighted to meet with the future parents and students of Internationella Engelska Skolan Lund and bring you up-to-date on the latest developments.

Thank-you for your patience.

From the Principal

Who am I to start a school?

My name is Per Ola Olsson and I have been given the wonderful challenge to start our new school in Lund. Before this I worked for Folkuniversitetet for 20 years, the last 14 of them as principal for Carl Adolph Agardhgymnasiet which I also started in 1998 so it´s fair to say that starting schools now has become a habit. I will write about the process and the progress on this blog so come back soon for updates.
